Comic Fiesta 2017 Day Two Report, 17/12/2017 (Updated: 19/12, 2324 Hrs)

(UPDATE: 19/12/2017) Before I begin, as a blogger and also a cosplayer, I strongly condemn the Pepper Spray Attack which happened at Comic Fiesta 2017 Day Two at 7.00 p.m, and I hoped that this kind of incident shall never happen again next time. Click here for more info.

Continued from here, this is a blog post of Comic Fiesta 2017 Day Two. On that day, I decided to use my camera despite having a malfunctioned SteadyShot, although Anti-Motion Blur and Superior Auto modes do help a bit. Somehow, this makes me feel nostalgic, as photos from my previous Comic Fiesta visits are taken using a camera without image stabilisation; Expect some motion blur in some of the photos.

Finally, unlike yesterday's post, this post will be published once all photos and videos have been uploaded and posted here.

Comic Fiesta 2017 Day One Report, 16/12/2017 (Updated: 18/12, 0100 Hrs)

Today is exactly one year have passed since Comic Fiesta 2016, and this blog post is, once again, is about that same ACG event held once a year every December called Comic Fiesta. Unlike last year, which was held at PWTC's Dewan Tun Razak, this year's Comic Fiesta is held at KL Convention Centre.

This post also marks the first live, periodically updated post in this blog, as most of the photos are uploaded after it was taken from my Sony Xperia ZR smartphone.

Trying Out McDonald's Fish & Fries

Normally, when it comes to fish & chips, the only place I know that serves the best fish & chips is none other than Manhattan Fish Market restaurant. However, early this November, McDonald's Malaysia introduced a fish & chips meal called the Fish & Fries, and it comes in two variations; one with single fish fillet and the other with two fish fillets, and both meals come with fries and a drink.

And so, while on my way back home from Seremban, my sister stopped by at McDonald's Bandar Seri Putra, where her two children bought their own meals, while I bought the 1 piece Fish & Fries meal.

Making Stovetop Caramel Popcorn

If you're a moviegoer, then you know and always buy popcorn before you watch a movie at the cinema. Popcorn can also be made at home using either a popcorn maker or on a stovetop. And so, after ranting for some time, I am going to show how I make my own caramel popcorn on a stovetop.

Random Rant: Getting A Job & Criticising Unemployment Bashing

Last Wednesday, I went to a nearby mobile accessories shop to apply for a job, as I am finally getting sick and tired with all the hate and scorn coming from every direction (even from my own family!), due to my long-term unemployment. Sometime after that, this question suddenly came up to my mind:

"If I finally got a job, will I still criticise unemployment bashing?"

E:62:10 Error Code on Sony Cyber-Shot RX100 (Updated: 10/03, 1105 Hrs)

After three years of serving me as my one and only photography tool, my Sony Cyber-Shot RX100 is now having an E:62:10 error, which means that the image stabilisation has malfunctioned.

Although the camera can be used to take photos normally, the flashing error code not only annoys me, but also, photos appear to look similar to what a digital camera without image stabilisation would capture when your hands are shaky.

I guess my worst fears did come true, after all.

Making Cekodok Pisang

When I was a kid, my mother used to make cekodok pisang, a type of deep-fried banana fritters shaped like an oval for snack time. Cekodok is also known as cucur or jemput-jemput; It is a traditional Malay snack in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Brunei.

And so, in this new blog post, I would like to show how to make cekodok pisang, based on the photo shown here.

Acne Problems? Drink More Plain Water, Consume Less Sugar

If you have acne problems and pimples on your face, this is what you must do:

Drink more plain water and consume less, or better, avoid sugar and anything sugary.

That's right. By doing this, one can reduce acne problems, and this is all based on my personal experience and thorough observation.

Random Rant: KOSMO! Newspaper, 'Cheap Gossip' News and Unemployment-Bashing Fun (Updated: 25/10/2017)

This photo was taken from here.

"RATHER THAN WASTING MILLIONS OF THE PEOPLE'S MONEY TO GIVE TO KOSMO AND UTUSAN, IT MAY BE BEST FOR YOU TO SHUT DOWN IF ALL YOU WANT TO DO IS INSTIGATE THE PEOPLE AND WRITE ARTICLES AKIN TO CHEAP GOSSIP."

At Mid Valley Megamall, 27/09/2017

Yesterday was the second time I went to Mid Valley Megamall; except this time, I was there to buy Comic Fiesta 2017 Early Bird tickets. As it turns out, Ace Cards & Collectibles also sells them for quite a while now (I didn't know about it); so now, I can no longer need to go to Kinokuniya again to buy them.

Things I Hate When Driving (Updated: 21/07/2018)

Ever since I got my driver's licence 7 years ago, I am beginning to enjoy driving. In fact, ever since I started driving, I was hoping that I can go for a Touge drive like I usually see in takashisupreme's Touge-G YouTube channel and also, record a video of my driving.

Unfortunately, in all those 7 years, I also have had several unpleasant driving experiences that are more than enough to make me unbearably angry, and it seems that those unpleasant experiences will never stop as long as I am still bearing my driver's licence!

And so, here are the list of things I hate when driving:

Sunday Train Ride, 30/07/2017

Multi Information Display, inside the MRT.

(This article was originally started on Sunday, 30th July 2017)

As I seldom go to KL, whenever I had the chance to go there, I usually enjoy riding the trains there. Most of the time, I would ride the Komuter, the Kelana Jaya line LRT and the Monorail. Ever since Phase 2 of the Sungai Buloh - Kajang MRT line was opened, I can now go to KL city centre without having to change trains often.

And so, two days ago, on 30th July, I went on a family outing to KL by train along with my mother, my sister and her two children, making it our first MRT ride.

New Tablet Case & Keyboard

As I now frequently use my Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 tablet for writing here, I am somewhat in need of a physical keyboard, as I am more comfortable with it than the virtual on-screen keyboard. Not only that, my tablet is also in need of a new case, as I have removed the old snap back folio case back in January.

And so, about a week ago, I ordered a new tablet cover case and Bluetooth keyboard from Lazada Malaysia; Both items arrived today, much earlier than the expected date.

Return To Writing & Preparing for Aidilfitri

There is less than a week before Hari Raya Aidilfitri, as of the time of this post was written. It has been a month since I stopped writing in order to take a break to celebrate the month of Ramadan. Good thing about this year's Ramadan is that it is much quieter with the least firecracker annoyances. Right now, I am about to prepare for Hari Raya Aidilfitri, as this is the last week of Ramadan.

Writer's Block

As a blogger, there is one thing that plagues me and it is the one and only reason why I restricted my blog's access and don't publish new blog posts here often: Writer's Block.

There are many reasons why this happens. In my case, it's not just writer's block; it is much better to call it 'creative block'. The stresses of my long-term unemployment and being constantly attacked by people who enjoyed unemployment bashing is one of the main reasons why I am suffering from it.

HoneyB Sparkling Honey Drink Review

It has been a while since I stopped writing here, and today is my first post in April this year.

Anyway, early this evening, I went to a mini market near my area while waiting for my burger and found that they are selling a drink called HoneyB: a sparkling drink made from 100% honey. As this is the first time I've seen a drink that uses only honey and without sugar (most drinks that contain honey also contains added sugar), I bought it right away.

Pasar Malam Diary, 21st March 2017

In this final Pasar Malam Diary post, I went to the pasar malam along with my mother. Arriving there at 5:45 p.m., we began looking for oranges at some of the available fruit stalls first, then followed by our dinner.

Pasar Malam Diary, 18th March 2017

On this day's Pasar Malam Diary write-up, I went there along with my mother to buy some dinner. We both arrived here at about 6:00 p.m. due to a severe thunderstorm that happened two hours before that. As everyone may have already know, pasar malam hawkers tend to set up their stalls late when there is a heavy downpour or thunderstorms.

Pasar Malam Diary, 11th March 2017

On this day's write-up of my Pasar Malam Diary, I went shopping there along with my elder (second) sister and at the same time, running errands for my mother and eldest sister.

Pasar Malam Diary, 4th March 2017

On this day's write-up of Pasar Malam Diary, I decided to go shopping there along with my mother. I arrived there at 5:35 p.m. and began looking for what to buy on that day. Interestingly enough, this post was also written exactly one month after my first Pasar Malam Diary post.

Making Onigiri, Third Attempt

In this new blog post, it's my third write-up of my onigiri making. Unlike my last two posts where I used my hands to mould the onigiri, this time I used a sheet of cling wrap to mould it, as it was much cleaner and it doesn't make my hands sticky.

Pasar Malam Diary, 11th February 2017

On this day's write-up of Pasar Malam Diary, I decided to go shopping there along with my elder sister for the second time. I arrived there at 5:55 p.m. and began looking for what to buy on that day.

Making Onigiri, Second Attempt

Yesterday was the first time I've made onigiri, but it was far from perfect. So today was my second attempt in making onigiri, and this time, I can say that I have succeeded in making onigiri correctly.

Making Onigiri, First Attempt

As I am highly fascinated with anything Japan since childhood (where I'm DYING to go to), I've always wanted to try some Japanese food. Interestingly enough, Japanese food is actually easy to find here in Malaysia, such as the Takoyaki, Teriyaki, Sushi, and Onigiri.

And speaking of onigiri, I have seen them sold in AEON supermarkets and recently, at Family Mart in Mid Valley Megamall. I have tried eating one, but never made one myself. And so, in this new blog post, I am writing about my first attempt in making a Tuna Mayo Onigiri.

Pasar Malam Diary, 7th February 2017

On this second Pasar Malam Diary write-up, I went to the pasar malam along with my mother to buy some dinner. On this day, both of us walked to the pasar malam instead of riding a car.

DIY Project: Tin Can Dashboard Camera Mount

As I loved driving, I would often think of recording a video of my driving. It all started in 2010 after I watched videos in the YouTube channel 'takashisupreme' (Touge-G Official), where it shows video footages of drivers taking part in Touge driving at Genting Highlands.

Back then, I would use my old Sakure TR-32 tripod to mount a camera for the recording and fixed the tripod at the back seat of my car for it. By doing this, I managed to record a backseat passenger's view of my driving. Unfortunately, it was difficult to attach and remove the tripod, and it was also quite risky.

Then there's the 'Dash Cam', which is essentially a camera mounted at a car's dashboard. However, since I have owned a camera good enough to record quality videos, I only need to either buy a camera mount or make my own.

And so, yesterday, I finally discovered a way to make a car dashboard camera mount from old and unused items, and it also works just fine.

Pasar Malam Diary, 4th February 2017

It has been years since I have frequented a Pasar Malam (night market) near my location. In fact, today's pasar malam visit is the first ever written here, and I have decided to call it a Pasar Malam Diary. I went there along with my elder sister and arrived at 5:45 p.m., but we soon parted ways to buy what we planned.

At Mid Valley Megamall, 21/01/2017

It has been almost two years since I last went to Mid Valley Megamall, one of my favourite shopping complexes. My last visit in early February 2015 was to collect a 1/8 scale Sen-ti-nel BRAVE-ACT Armin Arlert figure which I ordered at XL-Shop months before that.

And so, yesterday, after being invited by my eldest sister, my mother and I went there for some lunch and shopping for a birthday present for one of my family members. Two years have passed since my last visit, and I noticed a number of changes at Mid Valley Megamall.

JOHOYO JY-22 Tripod Review (Modified & Updated: 13/01/2017)

(This article, originally published on 12/01/2017 at 7:00 a.m, has been modified and updated after another testing at 9:00 p.m.)

One of the camera accessories that can be described as a 'must-have' is the tripod. I love taking the best photos possible, but I highly dislike blurry photos. Although modern digital cameras have anti-shake feature (example: Sony's SteadyShot), there are times when the photo appears blurry, even with the anti-shake feature switched on, due to shaky hands. In fact, I have to admit, my hands tend to tremble whenever I took photos, making some of my photos appear blurry when viewed in full resolution.

And so, in this new blog post, I am making a review of the Johoyo JY-22 Tripod.

Congratulations Mohd Faiz Subri

Congratulations to Mohd Faiz Subri for winning the FIFA Puskás Award 2016. His awesome, 'physics-defying' goal (as shown in the video above), which was made on 16th February 2016 during a soccer match between Penang and Pahang, was voted as the winner of FIFA Puskás Award 2016. Not only that, this also makes him the first Malaysian to win the award.

Below is the video of the award giving ceremony and a speech from the winner himself:

Once again, congratulations to you, Mohd Faiz Subri.
