Comic Fiesta 2016 Day One Report, 17/12/2016

It has been six hours since I left Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) after visiting Comic Fiesta 2016, and this post is the first post of its kind, where it is posted on the same day of the event, albeit at a later time. In this post, I am writing a report of my visit on Day One.

Comic Fiesta Photos, 2008, 2009, 2010

There is exactly one day before I leave for this year's Comic Fiesta. In this post, I'm going to show a number of photos I took from my first three Comic Fiesta visits, starting from 2008, then followed by 2009 and finally, in 2010. All of my Comic Fiesta visits on these three years are on Day One of the events, just like in 2013.

In this new blog post, I'm going to show a number of randomly selected photos I took using my Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-RX100 from 2014 to 2016. This post will also be updated with new photos, should if I have them to post here.

Penang Trip, Day Five, 04/12/2016: Going Home

At Queen Street, Penang.

Continued from Day Four, this article is about Day Five of my Penang Trip. On that day, we had our brunch and rode the ferry on our journey home. This is also my last Penang Trip blog post.

Penang Trip, Day Four, 03/12/2016: Beach, Quadracycle & Food (again!)

...at Miami Beach, Batu Ferringhi.

Continued from Day Three, this article is about Day Four of my Penang Trip. On that day, we went to a beach at Batu Ferringhi called Miami Beach, and rode a quadracycle at heritage sites near our hotel, which was perhaps the funniest moment we ever had in our Penang Trip.

Penang Trip, Day Three, 02/12/2016: Meeting My Relatives

View from second floor of Ar-Raudhah hotel on Day Three.

Continued from Day Two, this article is about Day Three of my Penang Trip. On that day, we went to visit our relatives at noon; in the evening, I went with my mother for a walk. As this is about a visit to my relatives' house, there are some photos that I've decided not to publish here. Unfortunately, this also makes it the most boring of the three Penang Trip blog posts...

Penang Trip, Day Two, 01/12/2016: Nasi Kandar, Esplanade, Heritage Sites & Murals

Merlin Hotel signboard.

Continued from Day One, this article is about Day Two of my Penang Trip. On that day, we visited a number of heritage sites including the Esplanade (known locally as Padang Kota Lama) and also, a review of one of my favourite local Indian Cuisine: Nasi Kandar.

This will be the longest of the five Penang Trip blog posts, as I took the most photos on that day.

Penang Trip, Day One, 30/11/2016: First Arrival

On my way to Penang.

It has been nine months since I last went for a holiday in Penang (Pulau Pinang). My last trip was okay, although I didn't write about it here. I even took a number of photos on my last trip, but only a few gets published here.

And today, in this new blog post, I am writing about my latest trip to Penang, from 30th November to 4th December 2016. In my writings are my visits to various places of interest and also, what makes Penang so famous for, the food (after all, they don't call Penang as 'Food Heaven' for nothing!). It took me a long time to write and complete this writing, since the hotel's WiFi service was so problematic that I can't even upload all of the photos taken.

Why Fruit Slices Makes An Oat Porridge Better

A small bowl of oat porridge with orange slices.

Ever since I almost died due to heart problems (caused by hypertension) back in 2012, I started consuming oat porridge with some fruit slices such as oranges in order to recover from it. Although I have consumed oat porridge earlier than that, I stopped consuming them before 2011, mostly because it doesn't taste good.

And so, in this new blog post, I am going to write about the benefits of consuming oat porridge with fruit slices.

RemainUnknown522's NestlĂ© Omega Plus® Milk with Oats Review

It has been a while since I last drank NestlĂ© Omega Plus®, a milk drink which contains 'acticol' that can reduce one's cholesterol levels. Not only that, since I am also consuming Quaker Oats in order to control my cholesterol levels, I even thought of combining Quaker Oats and NestlĂ© Omega Plus® milk in one to enjoy the cholesterol-reducing benefits.

And so, on 24th May 2016, NestlĂ© Malaysia launched NestlĂ© Omega Plus® Milk with Oats, a milk and cereal drink which consists of NestlĂ© Omega Plus® milk and oatmeal.

So how does it taste? Click 'Read more' below to read my review of the product.

The 'Ad & Ad' Annoyance

As an Internet user and Blogger, there are two things that I dislike when using the Internet and blogging, and these two things have one thing in common: it starts with the word 'Ad'. However, there are clues to these two things: The first one is annoying but useful is generating passive income, while the second one is a killer to one's income, but useful in blocking dangerous web links.

And so, here are the two 'Ads' that I dislike when using the Internet:

RemainUnknown522's Pocky Review (last edited: 21/05/2017, 07:15 p.m.)

It has been a while since I tried Pocky (previously known here as 'Rocky'), a chocolate covered biscuit stick produced by Ezaki Glico of Japan. Here in Malaysia, it is available either imported from Japan or Thailand; the Japanese version are available mostly at AEON (formerly known as JUSCO) supermarkets, while the Thai version are much more commonly found. Back then, if I remember correctly, it was originally available in two flavours, Chocolate and Strawberry; Pocky is now available in a larger variety of flavours, including Green Tea Matcha.

And so, last Saturday, I started making a review of them by purchasing a total of seven available Pocky biscuits, all in seven different flavours. All of the Pocky flavours bought are of Thai origin, as the Japanese origin, as mentioned earlier, are available at AEON supermarkets, and the nearest AEON supermarket is located at Seremban 2.

RemainUnknown522's Compilation Of Annoyances: Unemployment Bashing (Last Edited: 21/12/2016)

Before I begin, I would like to thank Priscilla from Serenity Amidst Frustration, as your articles in your blog have finally gave me the courage to write this, as I can't tolerate the neverending bashing of the unemployed for any longer.

RemainUnknown522's Compilation of Annoyances: Spam Mail

1. Ever since I started blogging, I kept on getting a number of ridiculous and somewhat alarming e-mails coming from highly suspicious sources, where all of these e-mails would always end up in the Spam folder of my e-mail account.

RemainUnknown522's Compilation Of Annoyances: Firecrackers

1. Everytime during Ramadan and nearing Hari Raya Aidilfitri, there will always be loud and sometimes annoying blast from people playing with firecrackers.

2. Match crackers (mercun mancis) and football firecrackers (mercun bola) in particular; What do these two have in common?

3. Two things: ANNOYINGLY LOUD and RUDE.

Hari Raya Moments

Jars containing Kuih Raya and Duit Raya envelopes.

1. Before I begin, I would like to wish to all Muslims a Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. To be honest, it has been years since I haven't celebrated a rather lively Hari Raya, and last year was one of those times (good reason for that, since my father passed away on that year).

Sparklers and Firecrackers

Sparklers, original photo from here.

1. There is exactly a week before Hari Raya Aidilfitri, as of the time of this post was published.

2. My last article was published on 8th June, almost a few days before I temporarily closed my blog in order to take a rest for celebrating Ramadan.

3. Now I have returned to writing, although I am still having problems in thinking of a good topic to write.

Review: Remax OTG micro USB to USB 2.0 plug

As an Android smartphone and tablet user, there are times where I need to transfer some files to a USB flash drive when I am not using my laptop. Unfortunately, I can't do any file transfer without an OTG (on-the-go) cable or plug.

And so, Remax, a company based in Hong Kong, introduced an OTG plug for use with Android smartphones and tablets called the Remax OTG.

As I have never made a review of any kind of device, this will be my first, so my review may not be quite good, actually.

REVIEW: THE MANHATTAN FISH MARKET MALAYSIA'S BEST DEAL IN TOWN, ALAMANDA PUTRAJAYA

This image is the front part of the promotion flyer. Image courtesy of Manhattan Fish Market Malaysia.

It has been a long time since I went to Manhattan Fish Market, a high-end fast food restaurant franchise originated in Malaysia, specialising in fish & chips. If I can remember correctly, the last time I've had fish & chips there was in 2012 at Queensbay Mall, Pulau Pinang.

And so, four days ago, I decided to go to Manhattan Fish Market restaurant at Alamanda Putrajaya, bringing my mother along, to try their limited time offer called 'Best Deal In Town'. It was available on 7 weekdays from 10th May to 13th May, and 16th May to 18th May.

Comic Fiesta 2015, Two-Day Coverage (last edited: 14/1/2016, 02:00 a.m.)

Comic Fiesta 2015 guide book, written here as 'Event Menu'. Taken on Day One of the event.

Before I begin this topic, I would like to wish everyone reading this blog a Happy New Year, and it is quite surprising (and also, slightly disturbing) that most of the readers reading my blog are not from Malaysia. Although I could have published this blog post as early as one day after the event, I decided to do it exactly
on 1st of January 2016. Still, better late than never.

Now back to the main topic. In this new blog post, and also for the third time, it is about my visit to Comic Fiesta 2015. Unlike the previous years (2013 & 2014), where it was held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Comic Fiesta 2015 was held at Mines International Exhibition & Convention Centre (MIECC). Also, unlike the previous year's Comic Fiesta post where I split into two parts; this time, I decided to combine them into one post, making it the longest single blog post ever (TL:DR WARNING!). Lastly, this is the first blog post to be edited and updated with photos and videos at random intervals, as I didn't have time to write and post everything here right after the visit (bad health conditions and writer's block are among the causes).
