Comic Fiesta 2024 Day One, 21st December 2024: It's Back to Square One

In what might possibly my last post before I quit blogging here, it's about my (usual) visit to Comic Fiesta 2024. However, unlike my previous visits, I no longer went for a two-day visit, and instead opted for a one-day visit on Day One (Saturday), 21st December 2024. Not only that, I also made a short movie (honestly, I don't know what word I can use to describe it) of my visit there, which I already uploaded on YouTube.

Nijigen Expo 2024, 2nd March 2024

As I always visited Comic Fiesta, there were some other ACG events in Malaysia I haven't visited yet, and Nijigen Expo is one of them. In this new blog post, it's about my visit to Nijigen Expo 2024, which was held at MIECC (Mines International Convention Centre). This event was held from 1st of March to 3rd of March 2024; The one I'm posting here is about my visit a week ago, on Saturday, 2nd of March 2024.

Comic Fiesta 2023, 23rd - 24th December 2023

Before I begin, I would like to wish whoever visiting and reading this blog post a Happy New Year; And to those rude bastards who enjoy harassing and mocking 'weebs' with your retarded memes and endless disparaging remarks and are also stalking my blog just to make fun of me, GO FUCK YOURSELF.

Alright, enough of my rant and profanity.

Anyway, it's that time again. In this blog post, it's about my visit to Comic Fiesta 2023. As usual, it's a two-day visit just like in most of my previous posts. Although it has been a week since the event, I decided to set this post to be published on New Year's day, since I need more time to edit and finalise the post properly.

Bon Odori 2023, Kompleks Sukan Negara Shah Alam, Selangor, 22/07/2023 (Edited & Updated: 26/07/2023)

Being a fan of Japanese anime and culture, there is one event I haven't visited yet: Bon Odori. This event was held at Kompleks Sukan Negara (Panasonic Stadium), Shah Alam to celebrate the friendship between Malaysia and Japan, and this year marks the 47th year of the event being held, although it was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Unlike the one in Japan, Bon Odori in Malaysia is a cultural festival and has no religious significance at all.

Even if Bon Odori has no religious significance (here in Malaysia, at least), it won't stop detractors (particularly, Arab wannabe religious extremists!) from bashing this event or anyone visiting it. To make matters worse, a bunch of Japanophobes would bring up Japan's war crimes just to mock or criticise this event!

Alright, enough of my ranting. In this blog post, it's about my visit to Bon Odori that was held at Panasonic Stadium in Shah Alam on 22nd July 2023. So, before I proceed with this writing, I would like to remind those cultural xenophobes (I really mean it!) who loathe this event,

STAY OUT!

WHY I NO LONGER MISS ANIMAX A.K.A. LEGAL ALTERNATIVES TO ANIMAX (EDITED & UPDATED: 13/12/2023)

(Original publish date: 04/07/2023. Last updated & edited: 13/12/2023)

Ever since Animax ceased broadcast on 1st January 2022, I have looked for alternatives to watch anime. In fact, ever since my house gets home fibre broadband service after that, I can now watch anime online (legally, of course) without having to worry about depleting internet quota.

Although Animax has been relaunched on 1st May this year on Media Prima's tonton online streaming platform along with its sister channel GEM, I honestly never miss or care about it anymore (thanks to LPF and Astro, that is!), as I have found better alternatives to that.

And so, here are the (legal) alternatives to Animax that I've found:

AnimeFest 2023 Day One, IOI City Mall, 24th June 2023

It has been more than a week since I last went to AnimeFest 2023 at IOI Grand Exhibition & Convention Centre inside IOI City Mall. Once again, it's writer's block (or as some detractors would say, LAZINESS!), and I am having a hard time trying to come up with something to write.

I guess, I AM feeling my age already!

Anyway, in this new (and late) blog post, it is about my experience at AnimeFest 2023.

TORIPAITAN EXTREME RAMEN, AT SEIROCK-YA IOI CITY MALL

It has been a while since I went dining for Japanese food at a restaurant in a shopping mall. Normally, I would go to Mid Valley Megamall for some Japanese food at Sukiya restaurant. Yesterday, I went to IOI City Mall for some early birthday shopping, as my birthday is on Tuesday.

It was here that I decided to try ramen from this restaurant called Ramen Seirock-ya.

GREEN TEA

As I have a tendency to sweat profusely, this also created another problem: body odour. One of the best ways I could do to reduce body odour is by using a bath brush when bathing. Although bathing alone can reduce body odour, the food we eat can also affect our body odour, too.

That is, until recently, I discovered one particular drink that can help solve my body odour problems: green tea.

Comic Fiesta 2022 (ANTI-WEEB SHITPOSTERS, GET THE F**K OFF!)

Before I begin, I would like to wish whoever reading this a Happy New Year.

Anyway, it has been a while since I stopped writing. Honestly, I am too stressed to write due to creative block and the COVID-19 pandemic. Although things have gotten better now, I am honestly stressed by the damage done by the pandemic, and I am also furious by the toxicity and stupidity of religious extremists who openly defended the coronavirus.

After two years of hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Comic Fiesta is finally back on 17th and 18th December 2022. Just like last time in 2019, Comic Fiesta is held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). However, unlike all the Comic Fiesta exhibitions before it, this year's Comic Fiesta no longer have on-site ticketing, so visitors must buy the early bird tickets to visit the event.

Although I admit that using social media sites (example: Facebook) is much better than blogging, I decided to stick to blogging. Besides, social media sites are highly notorious for toxic netizens who seem to enjoy hurting others for fun; Hence the term, 'Facebook depression.'

And so, allow me to proceed with this writing.

Oh, and to those 'anti-weeb shitposters' who are stalking my blog, GET THE F**K OFF!

REVEALED: Censorship Of P. Ramlee Films On Astro (Updated: 13th April, 0909hrs)

It has been a while since I criticised the censorship double standards of Anime shows and Western cartoons on Malaysian TV. To be honest, we are now living in an era where people are so easily offended over the most trivial things on TV shows, fearing that one particular thing can cause great disaster towards society and mankind. Today, with the easily accessible internet service and social media, now everyone can complain and become a self-appointed moral police.

Because of this, the censorship board, like a superhero, is always there to appease these group of annoying and overly sensitive people and make them happy; While at the same time, ruin any TV shows on Malaysian TV with aggressive (unless if it is really necessary) and sometimes ridiculous censorship. Ironically, these same group of overly sensitive people often turn a blind eye over bigger and nastier threats that cause even more harm and should have been dealt with.

And so, as per blog title says, I'm going to show what I (and possibly, other Malaysians) discovered: Censorship of P. Ramlee films on Astro.

COVID-19 Vaccination, Booster Dose

Back on 10th September, I've had my second dose of AstraZeneca vaccine. However, due to the newer COVID-19 variant (Omicron), every Malaysian who have had their two doses are now given a booster dose. And so, in this new blog post, it's about my COVID-19 vaccine booster dose.

'Dangerous For Children' Scenes In A Western Cartoon, Mr. Bean: The Animated Series (Updated: 01/02/2022)

Before I begin, I would like to say goodbye to Animax, as Astro have ended its broadcast on this day.

Moving on; As an Anime Otaku, I also enjoy watching Western cartoons. From what I see, here in Malaysia at least, Western cartoons are treated differently by the hypocrites at the censorship board (Lembaga Penapisan Filem, who else?), and almost always get away with no censorship. Examples? SpongeBob SquarePants contained some form of adult jokes; While Adventure Time do get censored, there are tons of scenes showing buttocks that always get away with no censorship whatsoever.

SpongeBob and Adventure Time aside; In this blog post, I'm going to show you some of the 'Dangerous for Children' scenes from Mr. Bean: The Animated Series.

COVID-19 Vaccination, Second Dose

In this new blog post, I'm going to share my experience in getting my second dose of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine on 10th September 2021. Unlike my first dose 9 weeks ago, there are slight differences on this day.

COVID-19 Vaccination, First Dose (UPDATED: 12/07/2021)

Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic, I stopped writing new blog posts due to stress. Honestly, it was stressful to see the neverending new cases, the highest new daily case ever recorded (as of the date this post was first written) was on 29th May 2021, at 9020 new cases! To make matters worse, Selangor kept on recording unbelievably high number of COVID-19 cases daily, to the point that a two-week Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) was enforced at 8 districts (daerah) and 34 townships (mukim) in Selangor, starting from 3rd July 2021.

In this new blog post, it's about my appointment for the first dose of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine on 9th July, at WTCKL (formerly called PWTC).

Things I Hate As An Anime Otaku (Edited & Updated: 20/12/2021)

It has been a while since I stopped writing due to creative block. Now with COVID-19 cases reaching 4 figures (the highest, as of the date this post was first written, is at 5728 new cases!), I now spend most of my time checking out daily updates on COVID-19 in Malaysia. Not only that, I am also playing Genshin Impact, which is miHoYo's new RPG game, and I loved the game for its open world gameplay and beautiful visuals.

That aside, today's new blog post is as per title says: Things I Hate As An Anime Otaku.

However, before I begin, let me tell you this: the contents in this post are based on my opinions and will offend some readers; I shall not be held absolutely responsible if you're offended with this post.

Ochibisan Halal Natto Long-Term Review: It Is Delicious!

In my last blog post here, I have reviewed Ochibisan Halal natto, the only Halal-certified natto available. In this new blog post, it's a long-term review of the very same Ochibisan Halal natto. In fact, as per title says, it is delicious!

Ochibisan Halal Natto (Updated: 14/06/2020, 0234 Hrs)

As a Japanophile, I love Japanese food. I have tried sushi, gyūdon, okonomiyaki and takoyaki, and even made my own onigiri. Of all the Japanese food I've ate, there is one that I haven't tried yet: Natto.

Natto, a fermented Japanese soya bean dish, is known for its smell and also cardiovascular health benefits. Although natto extract (nattokinase) is available in capsules, it is also expensive. I have seen natto being sold at AEON supermarkets, but most of these are not halal, as it contains alcohol.

But this has changed, as AEON supermarkets now have them.

Comic Fiesta 2019 Two-Day Coverage: My First Disappointment Ever

Before I begin this post, I would like to wish readers (or none of it) a Happy New Year. I have stopped writing for a long time due to creative block brought on by depression. That's right. I am suffering from depression, and it's real.

Anyway, this blog post is about my yearly, 2-day visit to Comic Fiesta. Once again, KL Convention Centre is the chosen venue for the event. Unlike in most of my posts, I have finally decided to put only a select few photos for this post, and more can be found in my Google Photos album. Not only that, I decided not to watermark my photos for now.

Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed NPC Facts, Discovered by RemainUnknown522 (Updated: 05/12/2019, 1117 Hrs)

Ever since I bought the PS3 game Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed, I am beginning to enjoy it, as it accurately depicts Akihabara, the place in Japan I'm dying to go to (I'm an Anime Otaku, what do you expect?). However, there are some gameplay elements that tend to frustrate me; for example, opponents that can evade my attacks way too easily, even on Easy mode!

Anyway, gameplay stuff aside. What I'm writing now is a number of NPC facts I discovered when playing this game, and below are some of them. Should if other players have discovered these much earlier than I am, I shall delete this post:
